Dragon Scales

Please note that not a single Dragon was harmed in the making of these necklaces – although, it was a near thing when I met Fire Scales. He is a feisty one, for sure!

These scales are individually hand painted on Aluminum and sealed with polyurethane. I chose to use the aluminum for several reasons; it's lightweight and hypoallergenic. It doesn't tarnish, it's strong and has the look of silver when it's all polished up and it is cost effective.

Currently, I have several styles and colors available and I am working on more - it takes awhile to build a good relationship with a Dragon!

To the left is Fire Scales with Leatherback Accents as a full bib on Dragon Scale Chain. The chain is made with high quality aluminum. The photo to the right shows the same scales on Helm Chain.

Above, the Peacock Dragon is much more peaceful in nature than the Fire Scale. This piece is a single row of scales done on a Helm Chain made from Jeweler's Brass.

On the left - The Infamous Indigo Dragon. She's a water dragon, as her scales may indicate. This piece also done with aluminum.

And, finally, to the right are Golden scales done in a Triad configuration on a Bronze Barrel Weave. This piece has a matching pair of earrings that are included but aren't shown.

Other metal choices for the chains are available for special order and if you have a different kind of Dragon in mind, feel free to ask! It may take me awhile to track down his or her lair, but I'm always happy to go on a new quest!

Lovely Lanyards - Shaggy Loops

How many times have you carefully chosen your jewelry for work, or an event and have the entire look ruined by a fat piece of rough fabric? The standard lanyard is not very attractive – especially those cheapie "event" ones that have two bits of Velcro hot glued on the ends! Or, you have a lovely pendant that just doesn't fit or doesn't look right with the chains you already have?

From fun and funky to classic elegance, these custom designed chains are available in nearly any length you need from choker to lanyard length and even longer. Most will feature a custom made clasp that will allow the chain to be even more versatile with the a coordinating bracelet.  If you are looking for a lanyard and are required to wear a lanyard with a "safety clasp" I have that covered. I use high quality magnetic clasps in order to satisfy this safety requirement. With many options of beads, metals and styles, you're sure to find a chain to fit both your budget and your personal unique style. Coordinating bracelets and earrings are available for most of these styles as well.

Please note that the majority of the examples of chains are shown in copper for two reasons a) I love working with copper and b)it's cheaper than silver!

Shaggy Loops

Depending on your bead choice, "Shaggy" can be a pop of color, or a more muted color choice creates an understated and elegant look. Bead choices are nearly unlimited and I can also make these chains using small stones similar to the sample piece with the green quartz shown. There may an increased cost associated with your stone choice.

The German Silver, Aluminum and Copper start at $28.00 for a 26" long lanyard with seed beads, each additional inch $1.00.

Silver Filled and Sterling Silver will be priced upon request and based on current silver prices. To give you an idea of cost for silver or sterling silver, I've based the following on today's market value (Feb. 3, 2013) the approximate price for Silver filled is $185.00 for a 32" Lanyard. For Sterling, the approximate cost would be $285.00.

Without a doubt, these are statement pieces. These necklaces are one of a kind.  Each eye is hand painted by me and then wrapped in wire to form a pendant. The chokers they hang from are made by hand cut rings and are made using one of the oldest chain maille weaves, European 4 in 1 – the same weave used to make armor so long ago!

While I can't duplicate these exactly – I can custom make a pendant from the "I" Collection in your choice of wire.

The "I" Collection - Loose Stones

Hand painted by me, each is an original small piece of art. These lovely and sometimes scary eyes are a real conversation starter! They have several coats of sealant on the back for protection.

These may be purchased either wrapped or loose. If you see one you like and would like it wrapped, not a problem. Wrapped stones will range from $25.00 to $60.00 depending on your choice of wire, excluding fine silver or gold wire.

Information for loose cabochons:

Approximately 20 mm very non standard though! The oval ones are around 20 x 18 mm.
